It’s 2 days and counting until all of us Americans celebrate one of our favorite holidays, Thanksgiving! Growing up in Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving in October, so lucky for me, I get to do this up twice a year and you won’t hear me complain about that.
A few weeks ago, over the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday weekend, my parents and my sister came down to our house and spent the weekend harvesting our honey with us. There is nothing more satisfying than stealing honey from your 3 hives of hard working honey bees, and bottling up that golden goodness in a jar. It’s raw, thick, and incredibly sweet and it’s truly something to be thankful for.
Every year when September rolls around, I begin to feel my most happy sense of self. The weather gets a bit cooler and the leaves begin to change colors. I get to wear some of my favorite clothes, which means great boots and lots of layering, with warm sweaters. Evenings are so much cozier with candles lit in the house, soft, fuzzy pajamas, and curling up in a blanket with a good book or snuggling with my little boy and watching a movie and eating popcorn. And pumpkin everything. Fall is by far my most favorite season for so many reasons, and it’s like the gateway for all the best holidays over the next few months.
