Is there really anything more glorious than the smell of baked goods in your home? I think my all time favorite is freshly baked bread smell, but cookies are probably my second.
This year I got a little reflective about Mother’s Day and what it meant for me as a Mama to Judah, and also my own Mum.
Spring is very quickly turning to summer here in the Pacific Northwest and the weather has been just beautiful! My husband is over the moon happy that the next few days are going to be clear blue skies with over 80 degree weather. I am not as happy about it as I am more comfortable in the low 70’s, but I suppose I shouldn’t complain. It’s so much better than rain!
Oh babies, why do you grow so fast? It always amazes me how quickly babies – both human and animal – grow. Every parent out there sighs when they see baby photos of their kiddos at a younger age and thinks “where did the time go”? I do all the time.
I am very thankful however that my son has not grown up as quickly as our chicks do! Then I would cry a whole lot more. 🙂
Hello friends, it feels like I have really fallen off the planet, but I suppose it has only been a week or so of being MIA.
Although we have had quite a bit of rain here in WA State lately, we have actually had quite a mild and sunny spring so far. Which is great news for our bees here at Scarlett Homestead.
It’s that adorable time of year again, where so many of us either have broody chickens who are sitting on their eggs, or we are buying our spring chicks from a local farm store or chicken farmer.
As I mentioned a few days ago, I had my family over last weekend for both my sister and husband’s birthday. They share the same birthday, just two years apart. And oddly enough, Rob’s younger brother and I are exactly the same age, but 2 days apart. Totally irrelevant to hot dog buns, but I jump around a lot – just keep up the best you can.
