Today we are going to take our super simple no knead white bread recipe as a base recipe and start playing with it to change the flavor and make it a little more special!
I have been asked by a few lovely ladies over the past few weeks what my favorite type of bread is to bake and what is my easiest recipe? So to answer the first question – my favorite bread – the answer is…..bread. All bread. I really can’t choose just one, but I do have a weakness for simple white bread. I know it’s the most unhealthy of them all, but it’s so fluffy and comforting. I just can’t help it. My easiest recipe, is the one I will share with you here today and for the next couple of weeks – different versions of the same thing. A no knead bread that literally anyone can master almost immediately with great results and almost zero effort.
I have finally done it. After months of teaching myself how to make good bread, and kneading dough until I understand how it should feel to know whether or not it’s done (not so long ago I couldn’t knead dough and have it turn out properly so I swore off of it completely. Luckily that didn’t last), I have finally cracked the code on my arch nemesis – white sandwich bread.
So I think I am doing quite well at cutting back on my carbs/sugar/white flour intake these past couple of weeks of the new year, but I’m not a robot, and I just can’t turn it off – the want…..no, the need, for good bread, is in my blood.
Coming to you again, from my yeast filled kitchen, is yet another bread recipe. And why not!? I am a fan of the Pioneer Woman, follow her blog and recipes, and also enjoy a few of her ‘food & friends’ as well. Here’s a great one!
I’m writing about bread again. I will never make apologies for this, but sometimes I think I should have called Scarlett Homestead something like “Yeasty Pastures” for all the bread making I’ve done lately.
I love to share yummy recipes when I come across a good one. I really appreciate all the recipes friends and family share and repost on Facebook from cooking sites. I have found some of my all time best recipes that way!
