“You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up”…..don’t you just hate me now for putting that song into your head? It’s going to be there all day long now. When I made this recipe it’s all I thought about. It got so bad that I actually looked it up on YouTube and played it at one point because my son couldn’t figure out why I kept chanting that same line over and over. He thought it was a “cool song” and wanted to keep playing it. I played it twice and then I was out.
I have been baking so much bread lately, I’ve had to double my shopping list for baking essentials. At first I felt a little shame at the amount of flour that was being ‘heaved’ across the checkout belt, but quickly changed my mind. I’m a woman on a mission! My freezer is going to be full of all types of beautiful healthy breads because of it and for that, I will only feel warm and fuzzy thoughts.
In our home, I like to maintain at least one homemade, from scratch, baked good to have on hand for quick breakfasts and snacks at all times. When I run out, or don’t have any frozen to pull out of the freezer, I get all panicked. I know there are more pressing issues in life, but my 3 year old son likes a good snack, as do I, and I like to make sure it’s a really yummy one that he’s going to be excited to have, without realizing it’s also healthy for him at the same time.
Ahhh pumpkin season! It’s one of the best flavors of fall for most of us, and it’s one that I actually keep sacred for this season alone. That way it remains something special to look forward to. And in my case, probably overdo.
Coming to you again, from my yeast filled kitchen, is yet another bread recipe. And why not!? I am a fan of the Pioneer Woman, follow her blog and recipes, and also enjoy a few of her ‘food & friends’ as well. Here’s a great one!
I’m writing about bread again. I will never make apologies for this, but sometimes I think I should have called Scarlett Homestead something like “Yeasty Pastures” for all the bread making I’ve done lately.
We love Mexican food in our house and two out of the three of us love a good dessert. I say two, because Rob, being the third, will almost always take a second portion of the dinner and have that as his dessert. Me and Judah however, will always have room for something sweet. He definitely gets that from me, and it is one of the things that make him my son, without a doubt.
I love to share yummy recipes when I come across a good one. I really appreciate all the recipes friends and family share and repost on Facebook from cooking sites. I have found some of my all time best recipes that way!
